Keeping the world up to date

-Our treadmill died unexpectedly.  Although we will be getting a new one, it’s amazing how quickly good habits can fade, while bad habits cling no matter how hard you try to shake them off.

-I’ve been out of school a month now.  The job search has begun.  I’ve gotten a small handfull of leads but nothing concrete.  I’ll be attending a job fair this week, keep your fingers crossed.

-We are coming up on Halloween, our absolutely favorite holiday.  My wife and I love the decorations, decor, and costumes.  We get positively giddy when the temp stores like Halloween USA choose a convenient vacant store and start setting up.  The downside, it also means the changing of the season.  Winters herald is a plastic costume in a bag?  Fall seems made for bad prose.

-We got a new set of glass mugs from Amazon.com.  Coffee needs to be served in a thick glass mug.  Tea can be served in glass, but china is traditional.  Minor details but it helps turn a nice cup of coffee into a relaxation experience.

-TV commercials are gearing more and more towards making people paranoid about everything that surrounds them.  Flood insurance to protect you from Mama Nature.  Extra car insurance to protect you from evil lawsuits.  Hand sanitizers and cleaning products to save you from every possible germ in existence.  Security systems that rival Fort Knox in case of breaking & entering thieves.  It seems to me that society doesn’t want anybody to be comfortable anywhere.

Make money in your spare time!

A few months ago at school, somebody mentioned the website Missingmoney.com.

I searched for my name out of curiosity.  Lo, and behold, there I am.  Somehow, unbeknownst to me, I had abandoned a bank account back in my hometown.

It may have taken some patience and a small outlay of cash on my part.  $6 for some public record searches to prove what my address was nigh on 20 years ago, and $10 to get a notarised copy of my drivers license and social security card and voila, they will be sending me $600.

OK, so its not an inherited fortune, but I will take the karmabucks when they appear.
